What recent guests emphasize

Comfortable, uniquely themed motel with a prime downtown location

Guests appreciate the motel's convenience, pet-friendliness, and distinctive rooms, balanced with some concerns about occasional musty odors and noise from nearby roadwork.

Guests often praise

  • Quirky, themed rooms that are clean, cozy, and well-decorated with thoughtful amenities like kitchenettes and air conditioning.
  • Excellent downtown location within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and Lake Coeur d'Alene attractions.
  • Pet-friendly policy with convenient ground-level parking directly outside rooms, ideal for travelers with dogs.
  • Friendly, accommodating staff who provide warm hospitality and flexible service.
  • Good value for the price compared to other area options, offering a more personal, small-town motel experience.

Worth knowing

  • Some guests noticed a musty odor in rooms, attributed to carpeting; suggestions include flooring updates.
  • Noise from nearby road construction affected sleep for some during certain stays, though this is temporary and not the motel’s fault.
  • The motel has no breakfast service, pool, restaurant, or fitness center, so guests should plan accordingly.
  • TV issues were reported occasionally, but rooms remain comfortable and well-equipped otherwise.
  • Parking is ample and easy, but the motel is a no-frills option without chain-hotel amenities.

Best for

  • Travelers seeking a centrally located, affordable, and pet-friendly stay in Coeur d'Alene.
  • Visitors who appreciate independently owned motels with character and personalized service.
  • Guests traveling with pets or those wanting direct parking access to their rooms.
  • Explorers looking to walk easily to downtown attractions, parks, and local galleries.
  • Groups or families comfortable with a laid-back atmosphere and minimal hotel facilities.

I love finding independently owned motels across the country. Not your sterile, generic run of the mill hotels, with no one who cares about your stay. Affordably priced, and dog friendly! I also love how you can pull your car right up to your door, especially when you have a luggage carrier and bike racks on your car. It's really nicely designed with cute chairs in front. I highly recommend!

I didn't expect it to be this fabulous! The room was clean and pristine. The decor was quaint and cozy, very well done. This is the BEST location in Coer D'alene. We walked to the shops and restaurants in a minute. This is just outside of the crowds but right where you want to be. I will only stay here when we go to Coer D'alene. I'm in love!

A fun and unique place to stay. The rooms were clean, fully stocked with the necessities, and the young gentleman at ther front desk was very pleasant and was happy to accommodate our large group's spur-of-the-moment trip.

A good value . . . if you manage your expectations and compare it to other options in the area. Fact is, CdA is wildly over-priced, more so now that the pandemic is over/ending/never occurred (this is Idaho, after all). Rate increases in this area are insane, though comparable to other regions that have a tourist-base. Two rooms, each with king-sized beds, costs approx. $360 (inclusive of taxes/fees) mid-week. The good? Great central location. Small town/privately-owned, non-chain, feel. Designated parking spots. Comfy (if firm) bed. A/C. All/most of the other amenities you need. Contact with the desk was pleasant over the phone while making reservations. Check-in was easy. The so-so? Dated decor. The 'theme' idea is fun, even if the actual execution is a bit of a hodgepodge. Cleaning is a bit suspect (there were spit-wads on one of the pictures in my room). The other room had an 'off' odor. The bad? Nothing really, again, if you manage your expectations. You can stay at a chain and pay way too much. You can also stay at a certain 'resort' and pay way, way, way too much. Or you can stay at a quirky motel, save some money, and use it for other things. Your call. Would I stay here again? Sure. Then again, I prefer odd places with a certain degree of quirky charm . . . even if I would urge them to continue making small upgrades (new or no carpets, better cleaning, new bedding, etc.) as their profits--slim though they might be--permit. PS: Being 'pet friendly' is only a plus to those who like to stay in rooms with pets or that recently had pets in them. For others, that might be a turn-off . . . regardless of whether it is an emotional support or service animal (though it IS illegal to charge a fee for the latter).

Cute place good location and staff is friendly. Room smelled musty but they just need to get rid of carpet and put in purgo wood flooring or linoleum. Only issue is there was road construction. Right out on the main road and they replaced from 9:00 pm till midnight and the entire room was shaking and loud so we could not sleep. Not the motel fault just wish I knew before we booked as we were tired and cranky aftet no sleep. I do like this place and again the staff was great. Other than the musty smell in the room and the road construction was fine. When we got back from dinner at 9 pm the roads blocked off and street crews made us park across the street at zips restaurant so didn't feel good about car parked across the road. It worked out OK as we didn't get towed but worried about it till we could park back at motel the next day. We will stay here again and hopefully next time room will have non carpet flooring and not smell musty. Very nice people though and nice to have a mini fridge and microwave and keurig coffee in the room. Just wish we had known about the road construction outside before and so weird the city does this till midnight.

I wanted to love it more that I did. The location was great. The room decor was very cute and the beds were comfortable. However, I couldn't get over the very musty smell.

Just wow, hidden gem! Funky, quirky motel with themed rooms but incredibly comfortable (stayed in America unit). The bed was amazing, recliners in room, mini split air-conditioning, coffee pot, mini fridge and microwave, very clean!!! Nice chairs just outside door and wide ample parking spots. Perfect for deinking coffee while your dog enjoys his water bowl. Pets welcomed for $10 a night and great customer service. We found this little place as we drove through and thought why not (after our truck wouldn't fit in CDA resort parking), we had the best stay. Especially with the dog, so nice to be able to go in and out with no elevator, lobby or other guest. Nice open field across street to take dog to. This motel is literally in right downtown and 2 blocks for CDA resort. Nothing fancy but so comfortable, plus thick walls didn't hear neighbors. SAVE YOUR MONEY for tourist things and stay here! This will be our go to anytime we are in CDA. You can not beat the price, cleanliness and comfort.

Cute car-themed room, welcoming to our small dog. We could not get either TV to work, not even the night clerk's friend could help. Kitchen had kind of a bad odor (someone had forgotten to empty the garbage disposal),certainly not a fancy motel, but the bed was comfy, area is quiet, and yes, would definitely stay here again. I love that our pets are welcome! Great location too--thank you for being there.

Except for the bed being more firm than I typically like, our stay was great! We had the Gone Fishing room. The decor was perfect! Location is perfect to access downtown and everyone there was great to work with. We'll definitely stay again!
